Made it!!!

Things I learned about biking (and hiking!) in Colorado:

1) It takes more than a week to get used to an altitude of about 9000 feet, especially if you plan on exerting yourself.
2) If you suffer from allergies, be mindful that Colorado has seasonal pollen swings and you will be affected if not on medication.
3) The high country has more of a sandy, rocky soil than hard-packed dirt. This will affect your riding if you are not used to it.
4) The sun is stronger than you think, even on cloudy days. Sunscreen may not be enough to keep you from getting burned! Dress appropriately.
5) Expect a bleeding nose for the first few days of your visit, especially if you are not used to the low humidity.
6) For every awesome downhill, there is an un-awesome uphill.
